Overall design of a primary school for approximately 650 students in the Oude God park area in Mortsel. The new school is being built in accordance with the principles of passive construction to minimise energy consumption. A large park area is being designed around the school, featuring walkways and footpaths for easy access to the school. The park location provides a great deal of added value for the school children’s safety, relaxation, development opportunities and environmental awareness. In order to be able to ensure the continuity of the school, a phased construction has been planned: phase one 3,592 m² (passive construction) and phase two 2,753 m². On 19 October 2016, the successful preliminary handover of phase one took place (sports hall and primary school). Phase two (nursery school) followed on 22 November 2017.
